Last week I had the pleasure of sharing exciting news that I am now a weekly contributor for a magazine that I have considered to be one of the best platforms for art and fashion, Creem Magazine. My first article discussed the connections between modeling and dancing and featured a series of photos I did with Stacey Kennedy and Orestes de la Paz almost over a year ago. Only a few photos could have been featured but there were so many amazing ones because of Stacey's bad-ass-ness that I couldn't not share them. All that said lets get to the point, the photos....
A Bottle of Wine Later
It's been four months now that I've lived in New York and other than my initial burst of progressive creativity in relation to my fine art work I have been putting my efforts elsewhere. Not that I'm upset but rather found myself missing the surreal state of that body of work. There's something alchemistical about being able to bring to reality these intangible emotions and energies that one experiences with the help of technology and a little ingenuity. So one night a few weeks back I got a bottle of wine, lite some incense and had a date with Photoshop. The results are something that I'm extremely pleased with considering that I haven't done any of this type of work in almost 6 months now but I'll let you be the final judge since essentially the viewer always is.
The Love Letter
There was something about it I couldn't quite put my finger on. Everyone that saw it felt the same way. It was quiet but oh so loud. Humble but self righteous. It wasn't until I put it on that I fully understood the magic and bewitchment running throughout its veins. There are no words, only motions that can describe it. Nothing in any of the languages I have come to learn that can express it beyond je ne sais quoi. If you saw it in person you would understand. The Love Letter dress by Kaytee Papusza.
